In a flexible and technologically enhanced work environment, education and training are evolving and facing new challenges regarding learning, learning outcomes, and the recognition of these outcomes. Various possibilities for recognizing learning outcomes have gained popularity in recent years, such as digital credentials.
The ECOCredGT project has prepared a report that provides an overview of the current state of digital credentials. It serves as a fundamental resource for understanding and engaging in the dynamic field of digital credentials. By covering different perspectives on digital credentials, the report aims to offer a holistic view of the current landscape of digital credentials and acknowledge the vast and rapidly changing nature of this field.
The report is divided into four main parts. Section 2 clarifies different terms and meanings in the context of digital credentials. In Section 3, the operational process of digital credentials is explained, along with relevant technological foundations and non-functional requirements. Section 4 highlights significant developments in the field of digital credentials worldwide, including relevant providers and infrastructures used for issuing digital credentials.
This report is a deliverable (D2.1) as part of the Erasmus+ ECOCredGT Project, and we invite you to visit the Deliverables section. It serves as a basis for a general understanding of relevant aspects in the field of digital credentials and is available in both English and Spanish.
