In Guatemala City, on October 4th, the Erasmus+ training event was held. The work of ECOCredGT was presented as a success story in the Erasmus+ VET call.
Dr. Héctor Amado from Universidad Galileo, representing ECOCredGT, participated as a speaker at the Erasmus+ training event organized by the Conecta Europa project at the Guatemalan Exporters Association (AGEXPORT). This event, part of the #ErasmusDays2024 celebrations and funded by the European Union, served as a platform to highlight the work of ECOCredGT and raise awareness among employers about the importance and emerging trends in digital credentials.
During the event, Dr. Héctor Amado from Universidad Galileo was invited to present the best practices of the ECOCredGT project. In his presentation, Dr. Amado outlined the objectives and activities of the ECOCredGT project, whose main goal is “to build capacities in Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions towards a Digital Credentials ecosystem that positively impacts employability.”
The presentation of ECOCredGT at this strategic forum was an opportunity to showcase the project, highlight its progress, and raise awareness among attendees about the value of digital credentials in today’s job market. Through ECOCredGT, the aim is to provide a validated and replicable model that enables VET institutions in Latin America to adapt to Digital Transformation, facilitating the validation and recognition of skills for the benefit of students and employers.
This event, which included participants interested in applying for European mobility programs, also served as an excellent space for connection and learning about the impact of the Erasmus+ program on education, training, and professional development in Guatemala
